Mysuru Yaduveer Crishnuvere Chamaraja Vadiar called the Trade Union Minister Piyash Goal to allow unlicensed tobacco farmers to sell their products and refuse to punish them.

Mr. Yaduver has recently met with the Union Minister in New Deli and submitted to him an official appeal on this issue on behalf of tobacco farmers, it is noted.

According to him, the Union Minister answered positively to the request and assured that the steps would be taken to facilitate the sale of tobacco treated with unlicensed tobacco manufacturers. Mr. Goyal also assured him that the tobacco council would be aimed at considering the issue of abandoning punishments imposed on such farmers.

Checking his commitment to the well -being of farmers in his constituency, Mr. Yaduver expressed his hope that the decision to request his request would soon be announced by the center.

Since tobacco is a controlled culture, the tobacco council allowed 100 million kg in the state in the state for 2024-25 and corrected the quota for each owner of the barn.

If licensed tobacco manufacturers and unlicensed farmers grow more than the quota allowed, it is considered to be unauthorized tobacco. The tobacco Council gives the authority to charge a penalty to grow unauthorized tobacco. However, the center in earlier cases refused to punish for unnecessary and unauthorized tobacco.

Even during 2023-24 the season, the Center granted tobacco farmers to sell unauthorized tobacco after refusing penalties.
