Business Owner pleads guilty after he has been selling drugs from a fitness center

Humboldt, Tenn.

Joseph Brian Moss pleaded guilty on Wednesday in the District Court of Gibson County for one count of drug ownership 1 with intention to sell and deliver. Moss is the owner of Humboldt Fitness LLC LLC, known as the Old Walmart building, located at 2500 Northern Central Avenue in Humboldt.

“He sell steroids from this building and allegedly did it for many years,” said Frederick Egi, Prosecutor General of the 28th Judicial District.

This follows from arrest in July 2023, when the US Postal Service and the Tenness Tennessee Targeted Group have searched this site.

Moss is prison on the maintenance of bonds for additional fees he received in 2024.

“As far as we know, a federal investigation is ongoing, and he considers federal accusations when he was arrested in September 2024,” Egi said.

The charges of a crime puts Moss for 6 years of probation. In addition, Moss loses the building, more than $ 150,000, and all firearms to the Western Tennessee Drug Work Group.

He must also undergo a course of therapy, mandatory drug testing, support full -time work and testify in future criminal cases as a witness.

“This sends a community message. We are not going to keep people from buying and selling illegal steroids, but the fact that we can break it, and it tells people that you will eventually catch it, ”Egi said.

Moss has 60 days to liberate the building.
