The new location of the Shenzhen Art Museum, which opened in November 2023, is a great example of the city’s modern artistic flair, especially compared to the old museum in Donghu Park, Luohu District.

The new building covers an area of 66,000 square meters (700,000 square feet), its exterior walls are clad in white spindle-shaped stone that diffuses direct sunlight and creates a layered effect.

The museum has 18 exhibition halls, a semi-open sculpture field, a book collection, an academic lecture hall, an art library and an event space.

The complex is famous for being at the forefront of technology and art. The lighting system imitates natural light, there are showcases with temperature control.
