Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe hit back at Neymar, calling him jealous of Lionel Messi.

The Al Hilal striker recently enjoyed his time at Paris Saint-Germain, playing alongside Mbappe and Cassie.

The trio failed to bring the club Champions League glory and all ended up leaving the club.

What did Neymar say?

Speaking on a podcast hosted by World Cup winner Romario, Neymar discussed his relationship with Mbappe and Messi in PSG.

Messi arrived at the club in 2021 after leaving his boyhood club Barcelona.

This trio was expected to make PSG the top dog in Europe footballbut they did not live up to expectations.

Neymar moved to PSG in 2017 for a world record fee, the same year Mbappe joined the club from Monaco. Everything changed when Messi appeared on the scene.

“We had a good partnership for a few years, but after Messi arrived he was a bit jealous. He did not want to separate me from anyone. And then there were some fights, the behavior changed,” Neymar said through ESPN.

Messi was unhappy that PSG did not celebrate his victory at the 2022 World Cup.

“I was the only player out of the 25 who didn’t get recognized (by the club),” he said via ESPN. He then added: “It was clear… because of us (Argentina) they (France) didn’t retain the World Cup.”

The trio played together for three seasons, winning two Ligue 1 titles. Messi joined Inter Miami in MLS, Neymar joined Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia and Mbappé played for Real Madrid.

Mbappe fires back at Neymar

Mbappe focused on the positives during his partnership with the Brazilian record holder.

“The truth is that I have nothing to say. I am very focused on what I am doing here in Madrid. I have a lot of respect for Neymar,” he said via Eurosport.

France’s World Cup winner said he has things to say about Neymar, but he wants praise.

“I could talk about Neymar many times, but I want to remember the positives of a unique footballer in the history of football and all the moments we had in Paris.”

Mbappe left PSG as the record scorer with 256 goals, while Neymar is fourth with 118 goals Transfermarkt.

What Neymar earned in 2024 at Al Hilal

TUKO.co.ke reported earlier Neymar’s salary in Al Hilal in 2024 after playing 42 minutes for the Saudi Arabian Pro League team.
