MIAMI BEACH, FL. (WSVN) – A man is behind bars after trying to get his tow truck back without paying tolls.

Miami Beach police arrested 37-year-old Milton Murcia, a bartender, after police say he tried to steal his truck after it was towed.

The fugitive’s pickup happened Tuesday at the Tremont Towing yard in Miami Beach.

Murcia went to the tow truck to see how to get his truck back, detectives said.

But calm Murcia quickly went mad when he couldn’t pay for the tow and was told he needed more paperwork to get the truck back.

So he tried to take matters into his own hands.

At the window, before the chaos, Murcia was allowed to enter the tow truck and retrieve her belongings from the truck.

“When you’re done picking up your stuff, you can come over here and I’ll give you your ID back, okay?” said the employee.

Murcia pulls into the lot, but as he gets into his truck to collect his belongings, starts the engine and tries to flee the lot.

The video shows Murcia crashing his truck into the walls, concrete pillar and metal gate surrounding the parking lot.

“What was that?!” – said the passers-by.

“Oh my god, brother! Whoever was there, you would crush them!” said a staff member as he reviewed the footage.

Tow truck workers chased after the truck, trying to stop it, but Murcia wanted to find a way out.

He crashed the truck into one of the gates, then made a quick turn south, only to find himself blocked by traffic.

Officers quickly dialed 911.

“911, what’s your 911 address?” said the dispatcher.

“Tremont is towing,” the worker said.

According to the arrest report, “the defendant was extricated from his vehicle by Tremont Towing and Good Samaritans.”

Minutes later, Miami Beach police arrived to arrest Murcia as workers towed the pickup back to the bus station.

The footage shows how the truck is badly damaged, as well as the gate of the enterprise, which Murcia crashed into.

Staff at the bus station said they had been working on this gate recently and unfortunately they will have to work on the gate again after Tuesday’s incident.

But it wasn’t the first night of horror at the Tremont garage.

last year, another driver was desperate to get out of Tremont.

“He just crashed into my (tow truck) truck!” echoes the employee.

The angry man had to be blocked by tow trucks and then held at gunpoint by a special forces team.

As for Murcia, he appeared in court on Tuesday.

“Good morning sir, you are under arrest for criminal mischief and petty theft,” said Judge Mindy S. Glazer.

The bartender got 86ed freedom and now he’s parked in jail.

Police said he was drunk when he tried to steal back his truck, so they also charged him with DUI.

Jail records show Murcia remains behind bars at the Miami-Dade County Jail.
