The government will act hard against Anwar for unauthorized construction in the security zone

Thiruvananthapuram: The government is gearing up to bring in P IN. Anwar in the case of construction of a seven-storey building in the security zone of Aluva Edatala Panchayat. As the case is scheduled for hearing in the High Court on Wednesday, the Panchayat Director has been directed to submit a written affidavit recommending the demolition of the unauthorized construction.

Ernakulam District Collector and Panchayat Director are the first and second respondents in the case. If the High Court rules on the state government’s arguments, the building will have to be demolished.

So far, the Panchayat Director has not filed a reply in the case. The building is located near the National Armaments Depot (NAD) in Edatal. Public activist Shaji K.V. appealed to the Supreme Court, claiming that the building was erected in a protected zone without the appropriate permission. In November, during the hearing, the High Court issued a final notice to the secretary of the Edathala Panchayat to file a reply.

The petition states that P. IN. Anwar, as Managing Director of PeeVees Realtors Private Limited, acquired 11.46 acres of land on lease for 99 years through an auction conducted by the Delhi Debt Relief Commission on 18 September 2006. The applicant also complained that despite the Panchayat Secretary issuing a stop notice to stop the unauthorized construction, it was ignored.
