PM says passport checks complete – FBC News

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says the investigation into allegations of unauthorized passports being issued to children of people linked to the Grace Road Group has been completed.

As a result of the investigation, the then Immigration Minister, Pio Thikoduadua, stepped down from the portfolio to allow the investigation to take place.

The prime minister released the status of the investigation after appointing three new ministers last week, including Viliame Naupoto as the new immigration minister, who will take over the post previously held by Thikoduadua.

Rabuka says the results of the investigation are now with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for further evaluation.
