Hampden man pleads guilty to possession of child pornography

HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI) – A Hampden man has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

The Justice Department says Homeland Security investigators and state police searched the home of 66-year-old Michael King last May.

During an interview with agents, King admitted to possessing child sexual abuse material and told agents where to find his laptop, authorities said.

They say the laptop was recovered and hundreds of images were recovered.

King was previously convicted in Kennebec County Circuit Court in 2017 of possession of child sexual material.

In both cases, images of children under 12 years of age are involved.

King faces up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
