The Panchkula police declared the judge’s death a suicide

The Panchkula police had earlier registered a missing person case following a complaint by the son of a retired judge at Chandimandir police station, but will now launch an investigation into the case

A day after a 73-year-old retired sessions judge from Panchkula was found dead at a level crossing near Shahbad, Kurukshetra, the Government Railway Police (GRP) ruled his death a suicide.

Representatives of the local VRP reported that a death note was taken from the person of the deceased stating that no one was responsible for his death. Without disclosing the reason for such a sudden step, the police said that the deceased jumped in front of a running train.

An autopsy was conducted and the body was handed over to his family, who live in Sector 27, Panchkula.

According to the complainant, his father left home around 8 am on Thursday for his daily walk to Herbal Park in Sector 26.

After he did not return at the usual time, his family tried to trace him but were unable to trace him, leading to a complaint to the police. His body was later found on Friday morning.
