Former employee of Montgomery County dance company pleads guilty to embezzling more than 0,000

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND (DC News Now) — A former employee of a dance company pleaded guilty Tuesday to stealing more than $100,000 from her former employer.

Erin N. Kelly, 41, of Rockville, is accused of stealing $160,986.25 from Dawn Crafton Dance Connection between January 1, 2016 and May 31, 2022, the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office (SAO) said in a news release.

The SAO said she “fraudulently diverted client funds intended for her employer into her personal bank account”.

Kelly’s sentencing is scheduled for January 7, 2025. She faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
