Family of missing Hungarian twin sisters ‘very concerned’ as police expand search in Aberdeen

The family of missing identical twin sisters who disappeared in Aberdeen almost four days ago are “very concerned” as police have stepped up their search for the pair.

Eliza and Henrietta Husty, two of the triplets, were last seen on CCTV in Market Street near Victoria Bridge at around 2.12am on Tuesday, January 7.

The 32-year-olds, from Hungary, crossed the bridge and turned right onto the footpath beside the River Dee, heading in the direction of Aberdeen Boat Club.

Police said the search for the pair, which included a police helicopter, canine unit and marine unit, as well as emergency service partners, was ongoing.

The River Dee search has now been extended to the coast, including Port Aberdeen South Harbor as well as Duthie Park.

Police are liaising with authorities in Hungary, where Eliza and Henrietta are from, to support relatives while the search continues.

CCTV footage from the place where Eliza and Henrietta were last seen is also being studied, and examinations are being carried out.

Police added that the River Dee remains the focus of the search as there is no evidence that the missing women have left the immediate area.

Eliza and Henrietta are described as white and of thin build with long brown hair.

Chief Inspector Darren Bruce said: “Eliza and Henrietta’s family are understandably very worried about them and we are working tirelessly to find them.

“We are seriously concerned about them and have significant resources dedicated to the investigation.

“We are once again appealing to the public to come forward with any information on the whereabouts of Eliza and Henrietta.

“The focus of our search remains the River Dee and I would ask again, if you were in the area at the time, please recall if you saw anyone matching their description?

“Even if it doesn’t seem like much, please pass on any information and let us look into it.

“I am again appealing to businesses in and around South Esplanade and Menzies Road to review their CCTV footage from the early hours of Tuesday 7 January 2025 and contact us if it contains anything that may be relevant to our investigation.

“We also want to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage from the time.

“Anyone who has any information is asked to contact us 101 with reference to incident number 0735 of Tuesday, January 7, 2025.”
