Milliewho is married to a former colleague Hugo Taylor and has two daughters, has been sober since 2022, and her new book details her experiences with alcohol from her teens through her twenties and her decision to quit.

She recounted one traumatic teenage experience that shaped her experience with alcohol when she returned home from boarding school at the age of 14.

Attending a party with her then-boyfriend, she recalls wanting to impress her wine the glass was regularly filled.

She felt tipsy but continued to drink, thinking it was okay because it was like something a “mature” girl should do.

But things took a turn for the worse as Millie became ill and unwell from drinking too much.

The reality star claims she woke up confused and dizzy to find the boy on top of her.

The person was not her boyfriend as she claimed at the time that he was the person who had been pouring her drinks all night.

The terrifying experience had a profound effect on her, as she wrote in her piece for the Daily Mail: “Looking back, I wish I had felt I could trust my parents.

“But how does a 14-year-old girl talk about what happened to her when she can’t understand it herself?”

She added that “school was also a traumatic experience” and continued: “And so began a cycle of instant gratification through boys and booze.

“The only way I could get into the popular team was to pretend I was okay with their brutality, and of course party – which meant drinking every weekend.”

This was not before the “breakthrough”. in therapyMillie decided to give up alcohol in October 2022 and now joins the quarter of British adults who don’t drink.

“I didn’t want to admit it, but it caused me a lot of anxiety,” she explained at the time.

“It has an instant negative effect on me mental health.”

Last year, Millie talked about reaching the bottom as stress to be working mother took its toll

In July last year she boldly admitted that she returned to the anti-concern medication after she was left in “daily tears and feeling unsafe in her own body“.

She explained: “I had quite a few panic attacks and my nervous system was in crisis. I had to rest a little.”

Now Millie is determined to take care of herself physically and mentally, and alcohol doesn’t fit into that picture.

Speaking on the CEO Mum podcast, she says, “Taking care of yourself is not selfish. When you’re on a plane, they say, “Put on your oxygen mask first before anyone else.”

“You really have to make self-care a priority because if you don’t have anything in the tank and you’re running on empty, you’re going to get to the point where you’re going to break and you’re not going to be there for (your family) at all.”
