Evansville woman arrested after stealing Whackerz from Posey Co.

POSEY CO., Ind. (WFIE) – The Posey County Sheriff’s Office says an Evansville woman was arrested Friday on theft and burglary charges.

Deputies found broken glass and several valuables taken from Whackerz, a golf simulation company, on Thursday, according to a news release.

During the investigation, a sheriff’s detective reviewed surveillance footage and saw a woman break a window to get into Whackerz.

The woman, later identified as Jessica Jeanette Guth, entered the business and stole a computer and several sets of golf clubs.

Surveillance video also shows Guth arriving in a black passenger car, the make and model of which was later identified.

Posey County deputies were dispatched to an unnamed business across the street from Wackerts on Friday after the owner of the business told deputies his truck had been broken into the night before.

After further investigation, it was established that the theft was connected to a burglary in Vakerka.

Posey County deputies conducted a traffic stop on State Route 66 in Wadesville that matched the description of the vehicle on surveillance footage.

They managed to find a stolen computer from Whackerz in the trunk of the car.

While investigating, deputies entered the residence and located several sets of golf clubs that were identified as stolen from Whackerz.

Guth was transported to the Posey County Sheriff’s Office, where she was interviewed by a Posey County Sheriff’s Office detective and admitted to burglary and theft.

She was booked into the Posey County Jail and charged with:

  • Burglary (Level 5 Felony)
  • Theft (level 6 crime)
  • Theft (misdemeanor)
  • Trespassing (Class A Misdemeanor)
