He made good on that cruel promise on Jan. 3 when the jilted lover cornered the girlfriend, 40-year-old Adriana Herrera, as she followed Rodriguez-Guillen’s unidentified ex at about 4:45 p.m. that day — and allegedly shot her to death.

Rodriguez-Guilen hid his own car behind a neighbor’s truck so the women couldn’t see them, the newspaper reported.

When Herrera arrived, he sped in front of her Hyundai to prevent them from leaving, but Herrera backed up and took off.

Rodriguez-Guilen followed the couple, cut Herrera off when she stopped in traffic, and got out of his car with a rifle in hand, the newspaper reported.

Herrera opened the door to confront Rodriguez-Guillen, and that’s when he allegedly walked up, fired three rounds and critically wounded her.

Rodriguez-Guilen’s wife grabbed her lover and held her close, but Rodriguez-Guilen ordered her to move and shot Herrera in the face, the newspaper reported.

He then pulled out a gun and pretended to shoot himself until he saw one of the bullets go through Herrera and hit his ex in the thigh.

He began apologizing, then called the police and told them he had shot someone near Saks and Blanton Drives in the east Las Vegas Valley.

Paramedics took Rodriguez-Guillen’s ex to the hospital, where she told authorities that she and Rodriguez-Guillen had been in a 24-year relationship before their divorce.

They got married in 2001 and divorced 12 years later. But the couple, who had seven children, continued to live together and remained romantic.

But about 18 months ago, she met Herrera and they began their own relationship. The three reportedly worked together at Harry Reid International Airport.

About two months ago, Rodriguez-Guillena’s wife said she ended her relationship with her ex-husband for good because she no longer loved him and began dating Herrera again, the newspaper reported.

Last Friday, he got angry when his ex told him she planned to hang out with Herrera and allegedly set a trap when Herrera came to pick her up.
