Marshfield man accused of killing and dumping body in Price County pleads not guilty

PHILLIPS, Wis. – A homicide suspect pleaded not guilty Thursday in Wood County District Court.

Devin Castro Gutierrez, 38, is charged with the first-degree murder of his friend and roommate.

He allegedly killed her, then transported her body over an hour and set it on fire.

He is also accused of mutilating a corpse.

The body of Blanca Yesenia Hernandez Portocarrero was found on the side of the highway north of Prentiss in the Town of Hackett.

Castro Gutierrez previously appeared in court on November 12, where a judge set his bail at $10 million cash.
