Crews secure the site after a brick balcony began to collapse near Columbus Park

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Crews continue to secure a 2-story northeast Kansas City home after part of a brick balcony began to collapse.

The Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department KCTV5 reports that around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, emergency crews were called to E. Missouri and Forest Ave. at Columbus Park with reports of a railing collapse.

When first responders arrived, they reported that a brick railing on the top floor balcony of the two-story home had partially collapsed. There were no casualties as a result.

Crews said they remain in place as they continue to secure the area to ensure there is no further collapse. No further information has been released.
