A car crashes into Billy Corgan’s teahouse in Highland Park

HIGHLAND PARK, IL. Emergency crews are at the scene at Billy Corgan’s Madam ZuZu home in Highland Park after a car crashed into the property.

Crews responded to the Smashing Pumpkins founder’s tea shop at 1876 First Street around noon Wednesday.

Video from the scene shows a red Mini Cooper half inside the business.

Corgan’s wife Chloe posted a message in the store Instagram that her mother was injured in an accident.

In her statement, she said the car “went over the curb and hit Madam Zuzu, smashing through the window and unfortunately injuring one person – my mother Jenny; who spent the day and dined with my son Augustus. Fortunately, he was able to jump out of the way and was not injured.”

“Our family is grateful for the emergency response of Highland Park and Deerfield 1st Responders,” the Instagram post read.

Police are asking people to avoid the area of ​​First Street between Central Avenue and Elm Place.
