FORT DODGE, Iowa — Fort Dodge police have made an arrest in connection with an investigation into a shots fired call Tuesday morning.

According to a press release from the Fort Dodge Police Department, officers were called to the 100 block of S 17th St. around 8:15 a.m. for a report of a single shot. The suspect left the scene on a bicycle by the time officers arrived, and after speaking with the victim and witnesses, they learned the shots were fired in the 100 block of S 18th St.

A criminal complaint filed in the case says Mosershed fired a handgun at the victim, then pointed the gun at the victim and attempted to fire the weapon, but it misfired.

Police said Mothershed was seen getting into a vehicle around 8:12 p.m. Tuesday night in the 2900 block of 1st Ave S, and officers conducted a “high risk” traffic stop at 115 S 29th St. He was taken into custody without incident.

A preliminary hearing is set for November 8 at the Mothershed.
