A man has lodged a police complaint after his 36-year-old wife allegedly ran away with a beggar, leaving him and their six children in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district.

Police have lodged a complaint against a 45-year-old man, identified as Raju, under Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with abduction of a woman, NDTV reported.

Law enforcement officers have opened criminal proceedings and are looking for the suspect.

In his complaint, Raju stated that he lives in Harpalpur area of ​​Hardoi along with his wife Rajeshwari and their children.

He also added that a 45-year-old beggar, Nanhe Pandit, occasionally begged in their area and often interacted with his wife.

Narrating his ordeal, the man claimed that later they also started talking on the phone.

“Around 2 pm on January 3, my wife Rajeshwari told our daughter Khushba that she was going to the market to buy clothes and vegetables. When she didn’t come back, I looked everywhere for her, but couldn’t find her. My wife left home with the money I earned by selling the buffalo. I suspect that Nanhe Pandit took her with him,” Raju said in his complaint.
