Jealous militant arrested for shooting woman in Udon Thani

Police Colonel Chakach Thiamwong, deputy police chief of Udon Thani province, said Apisit had been talking to a woman named Aoi and arranged to meet at the Huai Luang Dam.

As Apisit was driving there, Lihit followed on a motorcycle and shot him dead.

After shootingLihit fled to a friend’s dormitory in the Kujah district. Jealousy was the motive as Lihit threatened Apisit to stay away from Aoi, but he refused.

After Likhit’s arrest, police searched his girlfriend’s dorm room and found 4,334 methamphetamine pills, a 9mm handgun, 91 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one handgun holster, a helmet covering his face, and a black shoulder bag. Lihit claimed that he had lunch with his girlfriend and did not make an appointment with Apisit.

After dinner they were driving and met Apisit. Lihit shot him because of a previous argument over Apisit borrowing his motorcycle without permission, khaoSod reported.

Lihit warned Apisit to stay away from Aoi and harbored a grudge for more than six months. The gun was bought for 40,000 baht ($1,155) from a Lao national along with methamphetamine, destined for sale to youth in the Kujab district.
