Sibley man pleads guilty to possession of meth

Sibley, Iowa – A Sibley man pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Tristan Steven Dimmitt Gleason of Sibley pleaded guilty Friday to possession of a controlled substance, which is 1St degree of offense and serious misdemeanor. Gleason will serve 30 days in the Osceola County Jail along with everyone else, but two days will be suspended with credit for time already served.

Gleason must also pay a $430 fine, a 15 percent crime-fighting services fee, court costs, legal defense costs, crime victim assistance costs, a mandatory contribution to a local crime-fighting organization and compensation for the medical assistance program.

Gleason was also placed on probation with the Third Judicial District Department of Corrections for one year and will undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow any recommended treatment, rehabilitation or monitoring program.
