Big mistake R. Ashwina on X, deletes message sent to Rohit Sharma’s ‘wife’

A veteran cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin had an awkward interaction with the fake account of Ritika Sajde, the wife of the Indian team captain Rohit Sharma. However, after realizing that the account was fake, Ashwin quickly deleted his post on social media platform X. When India lost the Sydney Test to Australia and went down in the series 1-3, a user on X named @Nishitha018 responded to one of Ashwin’s posts on microblogging platform. Since the user’s profile had Ritika’s name and photo, Ashwin did not respond to her comment, not knowing it was a fake account.

“Australia thought they could wipe us out,” the user commented.

Since Ashwin didn’t know it wasn’t Ritika’s official handle, he asked her, “Hi Ritika, how are you? With respect to the baby and the family.”

“I’m good Ashwin Anna,” the user replied, prompting Ashwin to delete his message.

Meanwhile, Rohit and Ritika welcomed their second child, a boy named Ahaan, in November.

Rohit missed the series opener against Australia in Perth as the match did not coincide with his son’s expected date of birth.

After India won the match without him, Rohit returned to the team for the second Test.

However, Rohit decided to “opt out” of the deciding series in Sydney due to poor form.

India lost the match by 6 wickets to lose the series 1-3.

Reports have been rife that Rohit is no longer in the scheme of things as far as the Test team is concerned.

However, Rohit insisted he was not going anywhere and the decision to stay in Sydney was a tactical one.

Ashwin, on the other hand, returned to India after the second Test in Melbourne, announcing his retirement from international cricket.

Ashwin will now be seen in action during the IPL at the end of March.
