Teenagers charged with violent robbery of CTA

Charges were announced to 15-year-old boys and a girl assault and robbery of a woman on a CTA stations this August on South Side of Chicago.

According to police, the robbery happened around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 31 at the Red Line station on 47th Street, where the teenagers allegedly beat a 29-year-old woman and stole her belongings.

An hour later, a 15-year-old boy assaulted a 28-year-old man in the 5100 block of South Wentworth Avenue, police said.

Both teenagers were detained on Tuesday. Each of them was charged with one crime related to robbery and aggravated assault of a transit passenger. The boy was also charged with battery in a public place for the second attack.
