Witnesses told Columbus police that an argument led to the early shooting of an unarmed teenager. Wednesday in North Linden.

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of East Weber Road at about 12:03 a.m. after a 911 caller told police someone had been shot, Columbus police Sgt. Joe Albert said in a statement. They arrived to find a teenage male lying on the sidewalk with at least one gunshot wound.

Paramedics took the teenager to Riverside Hospital in critical condition, where he died at 12:35am.

Columbus police are trying to identify the boy, whose identity was not released as of 6:30 a.m

Several witnesses were at the scene and told detectives the teenager was involved in an argument with three other men when he was shot, Albert said.

Police have not released additional details about possible suspects or arrestees.
