A 73-year-old woman failed. The vicious dogs should have been removed before the mauling

Animals should not be higher than people

Dogs killed 73-year-old woman from Asheville. A terrible headline – but it is consistent with the terrible circumstances that the authorities have allowed.

The fact that the county dog handler, district attorney, and city attorney had to debate whether to press charges is mind boggling. These dogs were already considered vicious, as they had previously killed the neighbors’ dogs, and now took the life of a human.

What to discuss? At least one of the dogs killed another dog after attacking and killing Joe Echelbarger.

The authorities knew about these vicious dogs and the dog owners were warned but ignored all the warnings, almost as much as the authorities. The dogs were supposed to be removed from the neighborhood a few weeks ago. No one takes responsibility for the fact that this did not happen. It’s so sad.

finally, in Wednesday’s Dispatch, a headline that they were charged! Did it actually take days to make that decision?

Ironically, the Ohio Supreme Court says that if we abuse a dog or cat, even if they are strays, we will be charged with a felony.

Of course, I am not advocating animal cruelty; they must be protected from any form of ill-treatment. But I ask you, didn’t Jo Echelbarger have a right to be protected from these vicious animals? Have we sunk so low that the protection of animals supersedes the protection of people?

Trump is a real danger

Re I vote for Trump, reject Issue 1, October 27: I vote totally blown away by Philip Darrow’s latest column. Does he think Kamala Harris is a bigger threat to the First Amendment than Donald Trump?

is he serious

  • Did Kamala threaten or advocate taking away the broadcasting licenses of ABC, CBS or NBC?

  • Did she threaten to shut down the “failure” of the New York Times?

  • Did she threaten the Washington Post?

  • Did she advocate changing libel laws to make it easier for public figures to sue writers and publications for writing negative articles about them?

And all of this doesn’t even touch on his promise to become a dictator on “day one,” his association with Project 2025, and his previous attempts to call in the military to deal with protesters (but not the January 6 protesters). , or his belief that the “stolen election” of 2020 justifies the suspension of all our laws, including the Constitution.

It is absolutely clear who is a danger to our democracy.

This is Donald Trump. If you don’t see it, I recommend calling some of them hundreds of Republicans who have condemned Trump as unfit for duty and endorsed Kamala Harris. They will explain it to you. Try Liz and Dick Cheney for starters.

Trump and Harris are equally terrible

Vice President Harris called Trump a “fascist” and “Hitler,” while the former president called her “dumb,” “the worst,” and “lazy.”

Both speak the truth when they insult each other.

I must add that no one puts America first. They are both stooges of the US-Israel Public Affairs Committee who support and defend genocide in Gaza and Lebanon and prefer to send aid to Ukraine and Israel instead of hurricane survivors in the good old USA.

Vote accordingly!
