6 Days Until Election 2024: Pennsylvania Voting Lies ‘Continue to Spread’

PennLive is counting down the days until elections on November 5, 2024. Here’s what you need to know today:

Pennsylvania Secretary of State Al Schmidt said this at a pre-election briefing that attempts to undermine the integrity of the electoral process are his greatest concern. They are “designed to undermine trust and participation in our electoral system, and we expect that this will continue spread in the coming weeks therefore, voters should be alert” and rely on information from trusted sources, he said.

Incidents of voter intimidation can be reported to county elections offices, district attorneys and the State Department at 877-868-3772.

In addition to the presidential campaign, Pennsylvanians will vote in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, along with the State Treasurer, Auditor General and Attorney General.

How to vote in Pennsylvania

Election day is Tuesday, November 5. Polling stations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you’re in line to vote before 8:00 p.m., you can vote.

The deadline for registration to vote in this year’s presidential elections has ended. Registration will be available again starting from November 6.

Ballots for voting by mail must also be by 20:00 on November 5; stamps are not included. The postal vote request deadline has passed, but extraordinary absentee voting may be available.

You must vote at the polling station where you are registered. The Pennsylvania Department of State has a web search tool who can tell you where it is.

Only first-time voters must present ID at the polling station.

Anyone who has trouble voting on Election Day has the right to do so fill out the previous ballot; you can call 1-877-868-3772; or they can contact the electoral office in their district.
