Industry leaders hold an information session for local high school students

EL PASO COUNTY — High school students are preparing to land in-demand jobs after graduation. Business and industry leaders in our region held an information session for students in Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8.

Hundreds of students in several school districts learned how to prepare for careers that interest them, including computer science, health care, teaching, engineering and the culinary industry.

“I’m so grateful that they have that because it sets a lot of people up for success, like I can get a job in any food line right now because I have a safe service and … it just helps, you you know, working hard for what you want,” said Grace Tijerina, a senior in Fountain Fort Carson School District 8.

The Pikes Peak Business Education Alliance was also there to set students up for internships and job shadowing.
