Kanguva editor Nishad Yusuf found dead at his residence in Kochi; a police investigation is underway

Renowned film director Nishadh Yusuf passed away at the age of 43 on Wednesday, October 20. According to a report in India Today, the remains were discovered at his house in Panampilli Nagar in Kochi around 2 am. Police officers arrived at his apartment to conduct a thorough investigation and determine the cause of death.

Nishad Yusuf was a famous film editor in the Indian film industry. He has worked on several films including Thallumaala, Unda, One and Adios Amigos among others. His project was the most anticipated so far Kanguwastarring Suriya, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani.

The release of the film on the big screens is scheduled for November 14.

Nishad also had several other projects. He worked on the editing part of the upcoming film “Bazooka”, which features Mammootty and it featured Naslen who plays the lead, Alappuzha Gymkhana. According to some reports, he was editing Mohanlal starrer L360 at the same time.

Directors union Kerala Film Workers Federation (FEFKA) confirmed Nishadh’s untimely death on their social media. They wrote on Facebook: “Noted film director Nishadh Yusuf (43) passed away. He was found dead in a flat in Panampalli Nagar, Kochi this morning. He was a native of Haripad. In 2022, he won the state award for the best operator. for the editing of the film Talumala”.

FEFKA also mourned his death and praised his contribution to Malayalam cinema. “The film world could not bear the sudden death of Nishadh Yusuf, a film editor who played an important role in defining the modern outlook on the changing Malayalam cinema,” the post continued.
