A man is helping homicide detectives investigate a woman’s suspicious death after a body was found in Burke

Homicide detectives are assisting with an investigation into the discovery of a partially nude woman’s body on a road in Far West New South Wales.

Police found the body of a 47-year-old woman outside her home on Parkdale Road near Bourke just after 8am on Tuesday.

Police specialists are treating the incident as suspicious.

Officers say the woman has not yet been formally identified, but a 49-year-old man known to her is helping them.

Police say the woman’s family is traveling to Bourke to speak with police.

Officers urged anyone with information to come forward, especially if they have dashcam or cell phone footage in the area.

Meanwhile, community representatives paid tribute to the woman on social networks.

“Devastated by the news. Rest in peace auntie. Sending love and strength to everyone,” one person wrote.

“I’ll never forget that cheeky smile,” said another tribute.

“Lovely memories of time spent together inside and out,” said another.

“The world will never be as bright without you.”
