Metro consultation

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a circular that exits from the Rajiv Chowk metro station will be prohibited after 9 pm to avoid overcrowding.

“According to the police, in order to reduce congestion on New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2023), exit from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station will be prohibited from 9:00 PM. However, entry of passengers will be allowed until the departure of the last train from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station,” – DMRC said in a statement.

“We ask passengers to plan their journey accordingly,” it added.

Services will remain available as usual on the rest of the metro network.

  • For those heading to New Delhi Railway Station, alternative routes such as Ram Manohar Lohia Park Road, Mandir Marg and Rani Jhansi Road are available.
  • Public transport users are advised to use the metro.
  • Anticipating traffic jams, authorities advise commuters to avoid Bhairon/Mathura Road between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Pragati Maidan.
