Agra gym trainer posing as RAW agent accused of raping Canadian woman he met on Tinder

ABOVE: Agra police have charged gym trainer Sahil Sharma with rape and criminal intimidation after a Canadian woman accused him of sexually abusing and exploiting him by posing as a RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent. They met on the dating app Tinder, where Sahil allegedly posed as an intelligence officer to gain her trust.

Horror details

According to reports citing the woman’s complaint, she first met Sahil in March during a visit to India. After a personal meeting, Sahil invited her to a hotel for dinner on March 20. The woman claimed that Sahil had already arranged for pizza and soft drinks in the room. After eating and drinking, she felt dizzy and passed out.

When she regained consciousness, she realized that she had been raped. When she confronted Sahil, he allegedly calmed her down, saying that he was a RAW agent and that his life was in danger, so he needed to keep it a secret, reports said India today.

Sahil reportedly promised to marry her and continued seeing her during her visit to India in August-September. During this period, the victim stated that Sahil had numerous physical encounters with her in Delhi and Agra. She alleged that he forced her to delete their WhatsApp chats and call logs, citing the need to protect his secret identity.

The victim was blackmailed with obscene pictures

The woman also named Sahil’s two friends in the FIR. One of them, Arif Ali, introduced himself as a police officer. She alleged that Arif later blackmailed her with indecent photographs, which he claimed were shared by Sahil.

After returning to Canada, the victim discovered she was pregnant and informed Sahil via Facebook Messenger. However, he immediately blocked her and cut off all communications. According to the report, in her complaint, the woman accused Sahil of threatening to upload her nude photos on the dark web, which pushed her into depression and required treatment.

The court process is ongoing in the case

The victim described her ordeal as a nightmare, saying: “I feel trapped and I can’t see a way out.” An FIR has been registered under various sections of the IPC and the IT Act, including charges of rape and criminal intimidation. The Agra police said that an investigation is underway and they will arrest Sahil once the investigation is over. Law enforcement officers are dealing with an urgent case.
