Allu Arjun appears before the police in the theater stampede case

(MENAFN– IANS) Hyderabad, Dec 24 (IANS) Tollywood actor Allu Arjun appeared earlier on Tuesday Police for questioning in the Sandhya Theater stampede case.

The law enforcement officers strengthened the security of the police station and imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles.

Allu Arjun’s father Allu Arvind and his lawyers also reached the police station.

A woman was killed and her son critically injured in a stampede at Sandhya Theater on December 4 during the premiere of ‘Puspha 2: The Rule’.

The management of the theatre, Allu Arjun and his team were convicted of manslaughter which is not murder.

The star of the series “Pushpa”, which the police lists as number 11, was arrested on December 13. He was taken to the city court, which sent him to custody for 14 days. However, on the same day, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks.

The next day, the actor was released from Chanchalgud jail.

The new notice to Allu Arjun comes amid reports that the police are planning to approach the High Court to revoke his interim bail.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner KV Anand said on Sunday that the police will take the next step in the case after receiving a legal opinion.

The police chief on Sunday also released the minute-by-minute CCTV footage of the Sandhya Theater incident to debunk Allu Arjun’s claims.

Police have compiled a 10-minute video to give a clear account of what happened on December 4. Anand said the video was compiled after analyzing 1,000 video clips.

Allu Arjun is likely to be questioned on the basis of video evidence as well as statements made by him after his release from jail and on December 21.

Speaking in the Assembly on December 21, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lashed out at Allu Arjun for visiting a theater without police permission and holding a “roadshow” even after a woman was killed and her son critically injured in a stampede.

A few hours later, Allu Arjun addressed a press conference calling the allegations false. Allu Arjun also stated that he was hurt by the character assassination.

However, the police have provided CCTV footage to refute the actor’s claims.
