• AC Cars has unveiled the Ace Classic Electric ahead of its SEMA debut.

AC Cars is coming to the US to unveil the all-electric Ace Classic The SEMA show. The model follows the Ace and Ace Bristol which were launched earlier this month.

Full details will be revealed on November 5, but the model features a retro-styled carbon fiber body and a traditional grille. They were joined by wire wheels and classic bright elements.

Despite its old-school looks, the roadster has a modernized design with “svelte sidewalls and wheel arches” that contrast with the “flat-sided original.” We also see LED headlights that appear to have circular daytime running lights.

AC Cars hasn’t said much about the hand-finished interior, but there’s a wood-rimmed steering wheel and old-school gauges from Speedhut. The model also appears to have a minimalist rotary switch.

Motivation is provided by an electronic box system from Tremec Electric GT. The model is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 72 kWh and an electric motor developing 302 hp. (225 kW / 306 hp). AC cars didn’t provide many other details, but said the roadster will weigh less than 2,500 pounds (1,134 kg) and have a range of more than 200 miles (322 km).

Pricing in the U.S. will start at $275,000 before taxes and begin shipping next year. Only a “limited number” of the cars will be offered in the US, and they will be left on this side of the Atlantic. American models will also come partially assembled, as the powertrain will be installed by Tremec.
