Suspect in June Grand Rapids homicide now in custody

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan. — A suspect in a June homicide in Grand Rapids is currently in police custody.

Ronald Armor Jr. is being held in the Kent County Jail on charges of open murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. A 38-year-old man is accused of shooting and murder Jeremy Parnell June 29th.

Parnell was one of two people who arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds after a reported a shooting near Ardmore Street and Thelma Avenue in Grand Rapids.

After months of work, the arrest was a big step toward justice.

“This arrest is the result of months of dedicated work by our GRPD detectives,” said Chief Eric Winstrom. “This serves as yet another example of GRPD’s tireless pursuit of justice for victims of violent crime in our city. I hope this brings some comfort and closure to Jeremy’s family.”
