Police are hunting a gang of teenagers after an “unprovoked” attack on a woman in Glenrothe

Police are looking for teenage boys after attacking a woman in Glenrothes town centre.

The 51-year-old woman was approached by a group of youths at around 5.55pm in Postgate on Thursday before being attacked by two men.

She did not need medical help.

The first suspect is described as a male, 15-18 years old, of medium build. He was wearing a black jacket and gray sweatpants, with the hood pulled up and a bandana covering his face.

He was also carrying a black backpack with white Nike lettering on the back of the bag.

The second suspect is described as a male, 13-16 years old, with a thin build and wearing all black.

Sergeant Nicola Crookston said: “This appears to have been an unprovoked attack by a group of young men on a woman in a busy area of ​​the city.

“We believe there were people in the area at the time who may have seen what happened and could assist with our ongoing investigations.

“Officers check the video surveillance system on the territory and carry out regular patrols of the territory.

“Whoever can help, please contact the police 101citing incident 2611 of December 19, 2024.”
