A woman has given up contesting after leaving a friend to die in the middle of Southfield Road

On Monday, the woman pleaded not guilty to the charges leaving another woman to die with a severe head injury in the middle of the road Southfield last year

Kentia Monique Fearn, 24, of Wayne, was charged and pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and operating while intoxicated.

According to authorities, Fern was driving on Providence Drive early on June 3, 2023, after a party, when 23-year-old Mia Canu fell out of the car. Fearn left the scene instead of stopping and reporting what happened to police, police said.

The canoe was found by a passer-by on the road near the Coach Apartments. She was taken to the hospital, where she died a few days later.

Fern was arrested and charged a few months later. She stated that there was no lawsuit, as the case was brought to court. Sentencing is scheduled for December 13.
