Movsar Yevloev asks for an early return to Ramadan

Movsar Yevloev wants to stay busy after adding to his unbeaten record in the UFC 310.

Yevloev (19-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) leaves the field victory by unanimous decision of the judges over former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling earlier this month. Yevloev believes he has done enough to deserve a title shot, but if it doesn’t happen for champion Ilya Topuria, he hopes to get back into action immediately.

Ramadan is scheduled to start on the last day of February or the first day of March, so Yevloev wants to agree on the fight before then.

“I’m fine, I feel great,” Yevloev said TMZ. “I’m still waiting for news about the next fight, but not yet. Nothing yet, maybe next week they will do something for me because I have to fight before Ramadan. We have January and February, so we’ll see.”

Activity was not always on Yevloev’s side. He competed just once in 2022 and 2023, and nearly fought again this year before getting a second fight against Sterling at the final pay-per-view of the year.

Yevloiv, who currently has wins over the likes of Sterling, Arnold Allen and Diego Lopez, doesn’t have a specific opponent in mind. He doesn’t care about ratings.

“There are only a couple of names, if it is not a title,” Yevloev said. “So it doesn’t matter.”

UFC featherweight champion Topuria recently teased a potential move to lightweight. But if he stays at 145 pounds, Yevloev doesn’t think he’ll be next in line.

“If he stays at featherweight, I’m pretty sure they’ll do him and (Olexander Volkanovsky) again,” Yevloev said. “But his coach or he himself said that he is moving up. I don’t know. I don’t care, to be honest. Just give me my title.’
