In September of this year, Shannon Hill, 63, of Berkeley Springs, was charged with a second offense of failing to update his registration with the West Virginia State Police as a sex offender, as well as nine counts of sexual violence in the first degree and one in sexual violence in the second degree. attack.

He was accused of abusing two minor victims over a period of nine years, from 2012 to 2021. Hill was also accused of sexually assaulting the mother of one of the victims.

The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police.

On Dec. 3, after a jury was selected to try his case, Hill pleaded guilty to failing to update his sex offender registry and three counts of first-degree sexual assault. Seven other felony counts against Hill were dismissed under a plea deal that was set to expire on the day of his trial.

Hill will be sentenced for the crimes on February 6, 2025.
