Prosecution experts in Delphi murders testify about DNA, crime scene

Richard Allen’s trial continues this week in Delphi, Indiana.

Allen, 52, is accused of murdering two teenagers who went missing on February 13, 2017 and were found dead the next day. He was arrested in 2022 and charged with two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping resulting in death Abigail “Abby” Williams and Liberty “Libby” Herman.

On Monday, jurors heard Indiana State Police forensics expert Stacey Bozinowski testify about the lack of DNA evidence found on an unexpended cartridge found at the scene. The crime scene investigator explained that, in his opinion, the blood stains at the scene indicate the last moments of the girls’ lives.

Special Judge Frances Gall also summoned those present who had fallen asleep in the courtroom.

Journalists from Indianapolis Star and Lafayette Journal & Courier will cover the case as it moves through the court system.

This story will be updated throughout the day.
