Bentley stolen from Tennessee airport found on hanger in Cherokee Co., driver arrested

CHEROKEE COUNTY, AL (WBRC) – A Bentley that authorities say was stolen from a hanger at a Tennessee airport has been recovered in Cherokee County.

Cherokee County deputies were told a stolen vehicle had passed a license plate reader near Cedar Bluff.

The vehicle was stopped on Alabama Highway 9 near County Road 51 in the community of Farrell, and the driver, Thomas Cross, 35, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, was arrested.

Authorities say Cross had drugs on him and was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence and first-degree receiving stolen property.

Thomas will also be charged in Tennessee in connection with the theft.
