According to News CorpThe mother pleaded guilty to one count each of driving while intoxicated and driving without a license.

He was fined $850 and disqualified for at least six months.

The punishment comes after he was involved in a head-on crash while driving his car in Bardon in Brisbane’s west when it crashed into an Uber, injuring a child and a woman.

The mother failed a roadside drug test before he was pulled over for further drug testing, which also came back positive.

During the sentencing hearing, the judge described Mam’s behavior as “stupid” and urged the playmaker to “learn from this”, without recording any sentence.

“In this particular case you should not have been driving because you were disqualified,” the judge said.

“Having made this stupid decision to get behind the wheel of a car and also take illegal substances… a cocktail of cocaine and other substances that were found in your blood while doing so.

“On many levels, you are lucky to be standing where you are today … you could have been injured or killed, or other people could have been injured or killed.

“Illicit drugs have no place in our community, and there is certainly no place for a person using illegal drugs to be behind the wheel of a car.

“You have to learn from it.”

Mum also spoke to the media outside court, saying: “Today is a very important step in learning from your actions and starting to put things right.

“I sincerely apologize to the people involved in the accident. This incident is not a reflection of who I want to be and what is expected of me as a role model.

“I feel sorry for the NRL, the Brisbane Broncos, the fans, my family. I promise to work on becoming a better person.”

The 21-year-old signed a five-year, $4 million contract with the Broncos in February.

He was supported in court by his mum, who reportedly flew in from the Torres Strait Islands to be by his side during the hearing.
