Opening of a new home in Davidson County to help children in foster care

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Tennessee organization is opening a branch in Davidson County to help care for children waiting to be adopted.

Isaiah 117 will host a ribbon cutting for the Davidson County House by the end of October.

The nonprofit opened its first temporary home in Middle Tennessee in April 2023. Their goal is to try to ease the most difficult day in a child’s life and help with the transition to a foster family.

“The state has done a great job working tirelessly to get kids out of offices,” Rhonda Paulson said last year. “But we have children left without housing. These children move a lot. They’re in better shape than the office, but they still need somewhere to go.”

“There’s a huge need in Nashville,” program coordinator Jessica Biggs said last year. “Because we’ve spread awareness, now we’re ready to do something about it, and we’re ready to make it a home and love these kids who need it.”
