Van of missing pensioner found on remote British Columbia service road

Langley RCMP have confirmed that the gray Dodge Grand Caravan that the missing 82-year-old woman was last seen driving has been found on a remote service road far from her residence.

Jane Whitehouse was last seen leaving her home in Aldergrove to run errands at around 10am on Friday.

When she did not return home, her family went missing.

Two days later, RCMP reported Agassiz that her van had been discovered.

“It was located on East Harrison Forest Road,” said Cpl. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.

Mounties tells CTV News that Whitehouse is unfamiliar with the area and that the remote road is at least an hour and a half away from her home.

“Right now we’re trying to determine the reason why she actually went there,” Sharum said. “We are looking at potential surveillance video from the highway leading into the area.”

He said it was unseemly for Whitehouse not to return home and keep in touch with her family.

Anyone who sees Whitehouse is urged to call their local police department or Crime Stoppers.
