Officials reveal new details about Seth Altman’s capture

MEMPHIS, Texas (KFDA) – Seth Altman, the man accused of killing Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant, was enthusiastic on friday

Officials confirmed Altman’s arrest in Fort Worth on Friday after more than three weeks on the run.

The head of the plant issued a warrant for Altman on October 3, when he was shot several times. Altman has been on the run ever since.

Officials say Altman was taken into custody without incident and is facing attempted murder, which is a suicide.

Altman is currently being held on $1 million bail.

NewsChannel 10 spoke with Hall County Sheriff Tom Hack, who said a security guard in Fort Worth recognized Altman and notified local authorities.

Altman is currently in Tarrant County awaiting extradition back to Hall County.

Law enforcement has not set an extradition date back to Hall County, but they say the next steps will be to process Altman and send him to the Hall County Jail.

The courts and district attorney will get involved when the documents are filed.

“Extreme relief, it’s been a long journey. It was a long three weeks, everyone was on edge. The citizens of Hall County and other surrounding counties are concerned for their safety, and now that he is in custody, that part of the case is over,” said Hall County Sheriff Tom Heck.

With Altman behind bars, everyone breathes a sigh of relief and is ready to continue with the incident.
