Now Gmail helps you write an email on the web with the help of AI

Google Expands Help Me Write to Gmail on the webwhich allows users to create or customize emails using Gemini AI. Just like on mobile, when opening a blank draft in Gmail, users will see a prompt to use this feature.

Google’s Help Me Write feature is only available to users who subscribe to Google One AI Premium or have the Gemini add-on for Workspace. In addition to drafting an email, Help Me Write can also provide suggestions for formalizing, detailing, or shortening your message.

Google is also adding a shortcut for the “polish” option available in the Help Me Write toolkit, which will appear on drafts longer than 12 words. For Gmail on the web, users can click a shortcut or type Ctrl + H to quickly clarify an email.

On mobile devices, this option will replace the existing Refine Draft shortcut. Instead of scrolling through options to improve, formalize, drill down, or shorten your email, the app automatically refines the message when you scroll through the polish shortcut. Users can then further customize the message using other AI editing tools from Google.

Starting today, Google will gradually roll out Help Me Write across the web, along with a new polish shortcut.
