False claims spread about Mohammed Yunus’ daughter arrested for drunk driving

What we found: We launched Google’s reverse image on claims posts where video footage was shared.

• We came across a video on YouTube on a channel called “Transparency Bodycam” from Verona, New Jersey on August 28.

• It featured the same woman as in the viral video.

• The incident occurred in April 2022, when Verona police arrested a person named Monica after she was involved in a car accident.

• The woman admitted that she drank alcohol before driving after breaking up with her girlfriend.

• The drunk driver failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.

• In May 2022, she was found guilty of operating while intoxicated and refusing to submit to a chemical test, resulting in penalties that included a three-month ignition interlock and fines totaling $923.

The WebQoof team has also reached out to the Verona Police Department for more information and will update the story when they hear back.
