ISKCON Tirupati Temple Receives Bomb Threat – What We Know

Tirupati ISKCON temple in Andhra Pradesh got a bomb threat on Sunday. Andhra Pradesh police said the temple authorities registered an FIR after receiving a threat letter alleging that Pakistani terrorists had threatened to blow up the temple.

Authorities said police had checked with the bomb squad and had stepped up security in the city.

No explosives or other unwanted items were found, police said, suspecting that this was another incident involving a fake mail threat. It is important to note that this is the fourth fake report the temple city has received in the last three days.

The Andhra Pradesh Police said they responded quickly after receiving complaints. His teams conducted thorough inspections. But they (the fake email threats) turned out to be fake.

The city police further informed that they have registered cases regarding fake letters and they are being investigated.

A senior police official said they are investigating the cases with the help of the cyber crime branch.

Earlier on Saturday, October 26, two prominent hotels in the city received bomb threats, which were later confirmed by the police as hoaxes.

According to New 24, the threatening email mentions, “Due to Jaffer Sadiq’s influence on DMK’s arrest in a drug case, TN DGP Shankar Jiwal IPS teamed up with Pak ISI cells in Coimbatore to carry out these blasts to divert attention. by Ms. Kirutiga Udhayanidhi Chettiar.’

“Evacuate the premises and call the BDSS (disposal unit) to dispose of the improvised explosive devices. Contact Mr. PV Kalyanasundaram of DMK Arivalayam and we have sent him a pink envelope with a video of our story as well as the involvement of the DMK family. Afzal Guru will be reborn! Al-Badr! Only the BDSS left the IED in the school premises for inspection!”, the message reads.

Two days earlier, on October 24, four other hotels and the Tirupati airport in the city received bomb threat alerts, which turned out to be hoaxes, News 18 reported.

The hoax threat is said to be about alleged drug peddler Jaffer Sadiq, who was arrested in Tamil Nadu Bureau of Narcotics Control and Management of executive proceedings.

Police have put the city on high alert to prevent any incident related to the threat of an explosion. The Tirupati police assured the public that the authorities are working diligently to identify those responsible for the threats.
