Minibus driver crashes into crowd at pro-life rally in Mexico, injuring 16

Guadalajara city authorities said police arrested a man who allegedly stole a van near the city’s cathedral and, trying to escape, drove into the atrium in front of the church and plowed into people gathered there for a pro-life event. . Now the man is in police custody.

A total of 16 people, including adults, youth and children, received various injuries, including fractures, multiple bruises, sprained ligaments and burns.

On October 27, the city authorities reported that all patients who were treated at the MLS have already been discharged, and three continue to receive medical care in private hospitals, “remaining under supervision and their condition is stable.”

“I pray to God and to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Theotokos of Sapopansk, for their speedy and complete recovery, as well as for comfort and strength for their families in these difficult moments,” the cardinal prayed in a Facebook post on October 27.

The Mexican cardinal said he was closely following the progress of each of the wounded faithful in their recovery, “with the hope placed in divine providence that they will soon return to their (normal) activities.”

Robles said he was fully confident “that the relevant authorities will follow this case to determine all the circumstances of what happened.”

The Archdiocese of Guadalajara also issued a statement mourning what happened and calling for justice for the victims. The archdiocese expressed gratitude for the fact that no one died and, relying on God’s protection, asked the community to remain in prayer.
