Pennsylvania man questioned in shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO with similar weapon, sources say

Authorities are questioning a man in central Pennsylvania in connection with the assassination of Health Director General Brian Thompsonlaw enforcement sources said on Monday.

A man in Altuna attracted the attention of investigators, in particular, because they found a gun similar to one used in Wednesday’s fatal shootingtwo sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Thompson, the UnitedHealthcare executive, was shot dead outside New York’s Hilton Midtown on Wednesday by a masked assailant who approached from behind. The killer opened fire around 6:45 am. Surveillance video shows him fleeing on foot and then on a bicycle into Central Park, authorities said.
