AKRON, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News ) – One teenager was killed and two others were injured after a shooting at a Halloween party in Ohio Saturday night.

According to an Akron police report, officers responded to a shooting at a Halloween party at a home in the 100 block of Paris Avenue around 10:46 p.m.

Arriving officers found an 18-year-old girl with serious injuries, likely from a gunshot wound.

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were also found with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the two fled the scene after the shooting.

The younger teenagers are expected to recover, police said, but the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The names of the victims are not being released pending further investigation.

According to preliminary data, during the Halloween celebration, an unknown man, being in the house, took out a weapon and fired shots, hitting the teenagers.

Officers arrested an 18-year-old man after a short foot chase and recovered a handgun he had discarded while running from police.

However, it is currently unknown what role (if any) the man played in the shooting. Investigators are still determining who exactly fired the shot.

The police charged the man with concealed carrying of a weapon and obstruction of official business. Officers took him to the Summit County Jail, where he was booked, according to the report.

The investigation is still in its early stages and police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to call the department at 330-375-2490 or 330-375-2Tip.
